Add enough water or broth so that there’s about two inches of liquid above the top of the bean mixture in order for it not to burn
Step 4: Set Cooking Time Set the cooking time according to your recipe instructions. For example:
- Black Beans - High pressure cook on manual mode for about 30 minutes.
- Kidney Beans - High pressure cook on manual mode for about 40 minutes.
- Chickpeas - High pressure cook on manual mode for about 50 minutes.
Step 5: Let Pressure Release Naturally Once cooking is complete let it naturally release pressure by allowing it cool down naturally until pin drops down on its own.
Step 6: Enjoy Your Delicious Beans! Once the Instant Pot has released all of its pressure, carefully remove the lid and enjoy your perfectly cooked beans! You can then store the leftovers in an airtight container in the fridge for up to 5 days or freeze them for later use.
