Cooking sticky rice in an Instant Brands rice cooker is simple and easy. Sticky rice, also known as glutinous rice, is a staple in many Asian cuisines and is a versatile ingredient. Here’s how to cook it in your Instant Brands rice cooker:
Step 1: Rinse the Rice Before cooking the sticky rice, rinse it thoroughly to remove any excess starch. Place the rice into a bowl and add enough water to cover it. Swirl the water around with your hand, then pour out the cloudy water. Repeat this process several times until the water runs clear.
Step 2: Soak the Rice After rinsing, soak the sticky rice for at least 30 minutes or up to 4 hours. This will soften the grains and help them cook evenly.
Step 3: Add Water to Cooker Add one cup of water for every cup of soaked sticky rice into your Instant Brands Rice Cooker.
Step 4: Cook Rice Close lid of cooker and select “Rice” mode on Instant Pot brand electric pressure cooker or use manual setting on other brands. Set timer for approximately 12-15 minutes depending on desired texture (12 minutes if you like firmer texture).
